Each time a different flavor hits our tongue our bodies begin to release various digestive enzymes and gastric juices. This digestive bitters recipe helps with your everyday diet. Today our diets are full of sweet, sour, salty, and umami but not a lot of bitter tastes.
Bitter foods and flavors have been used for centuries to help cleanse the body, promote optimal digestion, and increase vitality. As a result, digestive bitters were created. This liquid was consumed usually before or after a meal to help break down food, support the liver, and promote gut health.

Certified Organic Yacon Syrup Our digestive bitters recipe has 1/4 cup of our Yacon Syrup. Yacon syrup comes from an Andean plant that is a relative of the sunflower, and has been used for thousands of years by Peruvian cultures for its natural health benefits. It is a delicious, molasses-like alternative to cane sugar or high fructose corn syrup.
The Sunfood Difference™ To help our digestive bitters recipe we have added our organic Yacon Syrup. Our delicious yacon syrup is certified organic, non-GMO and vegan. It is a natural sweetener that has a one-of-a-kind flavor similar to caramel, molasses, or maple syrup. This bottle contains pure yacon that is minimally processed without the use of artificial colors, flavors, additives, or preservatives.
